"So, you're the new guy, huh?" The voice boomed, startling David, who nearly dropped his coffee. He was already drowning in a sea of paperwork, and the move hadn't even officially started. He had been given a desk and the key card, and that was that.

He forced a smile, but his stomach churned. He hadn't slept well in days. He ran a hand through his hair, suddenly conscious of how messy it was. He was in sales now, apparently. He had no clue what he was doing.

"David," he managed, his voice sounding thin. The other man, tall and broad-shouldered, slapped him on the back with a force that almost sent him sprawling.

"Welcome aboard! We’re gonna make you a star in no time!" He didn't think he could handle the pressure. He felt the blood drain from his face.
